Madeira Classic no. 30. This is slightly thicker than the regular no. 40 so gives a quicker effect. It is a lovely viscose rayon with a wonderful sheen and comes in a good range of colours (too many to count!!) which we will order in for you. We have colour charts available on request. 700m reels.
Madeira Classic no. 60, the finest viscose thread, suitable for monogramming, fine lettering and filigree embroidery. A smaller range of colours available but 63 so still plenty to choose from!!! but these need to be ordered, 1500m reels.
Madeira Classic no. 12 is the thickest in the Madeira viscose range - great for heavier designs and very good as an overlock thread. This is available in 44 colours but has to be ordered, 2000m reels.
Glamour by Madeira (no. 8). This is a really thick thread that is used in the bobbin. It is ideal for embroidery, surface stitchery and embellishment. It is a gorgeous glitzy thread just like the Supertwist and there are 25 colours in the range.

Then we have our great range (330 colours to choose from) of standard weight threads (no. 40) Madeira polyneons, a viscose rayon with a lovely sheen.

Robison and Anton super strength rayons. There is an incredible range of these threads - over 450!!!!, including variegated and twister tweeds. We have colour charts available for these at a cost of $5.00.

Madeira Lana thread. This is a wool thread which can be used for surface stitchery and embellishment. It produces larger stitches and the stitched area therefore takes fewer stitches to cover. Once the stitching is complete you can gently brush the surface - ideal for creating furry animals or texture to things like tree trunks!! There are 80 colours available in this range.

YLI Silk Thread, a very fine 100 denier thread that comes in a lovely range of colours. We stock 26 of these. This thread is great for machine and hand applique and because of the fineness it blends into the fabric beautifully.

Madeira FS metallic thread is a soft metallic thread with a black rayon fibre core. This thread comes in a range of 28 colours and gives a richness to surface stitchery and applique.

Madeira Supertwist is another metallic from Madeira but this thread has a lovely sparkle to it and is great for that extra bit of embellishment. There are 68 colours to choose from and it is also available in variegated colours and the opals which are more pastel coloured.

To use with these wonderful threads we have a great range of needles - the right needle makes your sewing much more satisfying!!
We recommend topstitch or embroidery needles with the thicker threads and the metallics. These needles have a larger eye so the thread "travels" smoothly without wear, avoiding those annoying breakages!
For use with the Wool Lana thread there is a special embroidery needle.
Double eye needle - use threads of two different colours for some great embroidery topstitch affects.
Twin needles - these come in a range of three sizes, ie tuck width, and are used for producing tucks and two colour decorative seams.
